Volunteer at Sample Night Live!

Each month, Sample Night Live requires a host of fun and fabulous folks to keep the Sample Night Live machine well-oiled and running smooth. Every volunteer has an opportunity to schmooze and network with Sample Night Live artists, whether backstage during the show or afterwards at our fantastic after party!

Those interested in technical fields within theatre can also gain valuable, hands-on experience working in a professional environment, staffed by fully-qualified theatre professionals.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Artist Liaison: provide backstage artist support, staffing the stage door, artist check-in, green room and other backstage areas. Two shifts are needed each show: 1:45-5:30 p.m., 5:30-strike. Volunteers may opt to work both shifts if they'd like.
  
• Usher: provide customer service to Sample Night Live guests, including pre-show hospitality, staffing of theatre entrances before the show and during intermission, and staffing of the theatre during the production. One shift is needed each show: 5:15 p.m.-strike.
  
• Technicians: backstage technicians, stagehands and spotlight operators are required for every Sample Night Live, providing key technical support to the Technical Director, Stage Manager and Sample Night Live's artists. A general knowledge of stage technology, specifically sound equipment and electric runs, is helpful but not required. These positions do require fast, accurate work; excellent communication and customer service skills; and appropriate handling and care of equipment. Work call is from 2-10 p.m.
